Project Description

This project was a full conversion in York to create new space and make the house super energy efficient.

It started with the removal of walls, floors, chimney, fireplaces, doorways and floors to transform the ground floor into one space where contemporary exposed wood and glass meshed seamlessly with the elegant high ceilings of this Victorian house.

Work included numerous joinery elements from a unique floor to ceiling shelves between 2 rooms, outdoor seating and a fitted kitchen.

New lighting, power and heating were installed, including underfloor heating, and this, along with the triple glazed bespoke glass roof and wall, has delivered an exceptionally energy efficient house.

Reclaiming the garden space started with dismantling the garage and creating new off street parking with a new patio area and pathways and also the transformation of a coal shed to a beautiful glass house.

While all the work of the whole team involved was to the highest standard, it’s the way the project was undertaken that stands out. The exceptional management, craftsmanship, attention to detail and attitude meant that day to day the project progressed smoothly with everyone taking responsibility for their own areas, not finishing until it was really finished.
